CHILDREN from one primary school just outside of Weston-super-Mare got a visit to London with Weston’s MP, John Penrose.

The children who make up the school council at St Martin’s Primary School in Worle had a tour of the House of Commons and House of Lords.

They were taught about democracy in the UK and told about the history of the building.

Mr Penrose was then quizzed by the budding politicians before the children got a chance to see some of London’s most famous sights.

The school’s business manager Sue Bishop said: “The children’s interest and questioning were a credit to them during their long day.”
