Business-savvy youngsters showed off their enterprise skills in an entrepreneurial school competition.

Pupils at Churchill Academy and Sixth Form took part in its Young Apprentice challenge, which tasked teams with creating innovative products.

The children carried out market research and branding exercises before presenting their products to a panel of judges in front of a packed school hall.

Teacher Zoe Turner said: “It was a very tough decision this year to choose the most promising entrepreneurs.

“The winner this year was Choc-A-Lot, whose products included hot chocolate reindeers, brownie cups and henna tattoos.

“This team had a unique selling point and demonstrated all-round excellent business skills throughout the whole project, not just on the final day.

“Close runners-up were Sketer, Jam & Mosana, which also showed innovation, creativity and great teamwork.”
