THE sun may have been shining brightly outside but pupils at Churchill Primary School were tucking into the traditional harvest lunch.
The whole school came together for a church service before enjoying a two-course meal of chicken stew and apple crumble.
But the 200 pupils, joined by around 100 parents, were made to work up an appetite by peeling the apples and vegetables they had grown and staff praised them for their hard work and good behaviour.
The lunch cost �2 per person and the money will be split between The Seeds project helping kids in South Africa and Wraxall Hospice. A food donation was also given to the North Somerset charity.
