A call for sports-related businesses to help train instructors has been issued by Weston College.
The college is setting up an apprenticeship in sport and leisure activity leadership, and is looking for sport companies, dance studios, personal trainers and sports clubs prepared to grow their own staff. The aim of the programme is to enable apprentices to lead coaching activities, freeing up the company to meet its business needs.
Christopher Batt, co-ordinator at the college’s business enterprise centre said: “Olympic stars need coaches who are experts in their field, and an apprenticeship is an excellent way for a young person to explore all the possibilities of a coaching career.”
