A PARTNERSHIP which trascends thousands of miles and a cultural divide has been forged between Weston College and China.

The college has teamed up with Fujian Changle Vocational School, meaning both centres will run an exchange programme for staff and pupils.

Deputy mayor of Changle, Mingfa Wang, the director of Changle’s educational department, Changyu Chen and the Chinese school’s principal, Dehuang Zheng, have visited Weston to meet college executives.

They toured the Knightstone and South West Skills campuses in Weston-super-Mare before signing a partnership agreement with Weston College principal Dr Paul Phillips.

Dr Phillips said: “This partnership agreement confirms our intention to work closely with our Chinese counterparts, to learn from one another, and ultimately to provide opportunities to enhance the student experience both here at the college and in Changle.”
