THE Kings of Wessex School's equestrian team is celebrating have a string of competition successes.
THE Kings of Wessex School's equestrian team is celebrating have a string of competition successes.
The Cheddar team is currently the only one from a state comprehensive to compete against national independent schools.
In November, it competed in the JAS (Jumping with Style) competition. The course included about 20 jumps, half of which were show jumps.
Team A came second and qualified for the nationals. Team B also did well, with member Samara Masny coming fourth. Samara also competed in the next class and won.
Team A then competed at the Stonar Junior One Day Event Championships and came fourth out of 32.
In the individual placings, Zoe Aston came third and sixth place went to Megan Jones, with Megan Moxey coming in 10th.
Headteacher Chris Richardson said: "This is a tremendous achievement for the team and I am proud of its accomplishments in this specialised field.
