A DIY SOS style call from Worle Football Club resulted in a series of plastering jobs for Weston College students.

The club’s existing changing rooms were in desperate need of renovation and bosses successfully applied for a grant to create a new block.

But while the money covered some of the building work, there was a shortfall, so the club asked the college’s construction and engineering centre of excellence (CECE), based in Locking Road, to help out.

A team of plastering students was assembled and set to work rendering and plastering the new build, which is the size of a bungalow.

Worle FC committee member Mike Parker said: “You couldn’t get a more committed and keen bunch.

“They’ve done a thoroughly professional job here and it’s really helped us out.”
