Pupils at Winscombe Primary School in Moorham Road also threw wet sponges at unfortunate parents during their soak-a-dad competition.

Year six pupil Emma won a raffle prize giving her the chance to be headteacher for a day.

The day was organised by the school’s PTFA, which organises events, and the money raised will be put towards future trips and events for the school’s pupils.

School spokesman Melanie Moore said: “It was a success despite the poor weather. They all really enjoyed themselves and quite a few people came along.”
