A WONKA bar, clowns, pirates and witches were just a few of the things that school children chose to dress up as for National Children’s Book Week.
The event is to celebrate and encourage reading around the world and many children and teachers across the region’s schools donned wigs and costumes in line with the theme.
Paws and whiskers could be seen on many Wrington Primary School children and other characters included Oliver Twist and Where’s Wally.
Bookworms from Corpus Christi Primary School got involved by choosing to wear attire from different countries relating to books.
Students and staff at Axbridge First School also dressed up as book characters and animals from various stories including Peter Pan, a burglar and a wolf.
