John Carter taught at Uphill Secondary School from 1965-71, when it became Broadoak School.

He retired in the 1990s but supported the school’s rebuild as a North Somerset councillor.

Mr Carter was also in the Uphill Secondary School Cadets and would like to hear from former members.

The cadet band carried out a lot of charity work and played at events all over the county.

He said: “I would like to ask old pupils of Uphill Secondary School if they are interested in some sort of get-together or reunion.

“I’d also like to hear how old pupils’ lives have turned out.”

Mr Carter is keen to put on a reunion if enough people show an interest.

He would like to hear from people who were at the school until 1971 and can be contacted on 01934 415472.
