FITNESS enthusiasts tried their hands at a range of activities at a new £2.7million sports centre.

North Somerset Council’s project, known as @Worle, houses sport and leisure facilities for the community and opened to the public this week.

The new building at Worle Community School includes a fitness gym, dance studio with top-quality sprung wooden floor, several multi-purpose rooms, and changing facilities inside and outside.

There is also a full-sized floodlit 3G artificial turf pitch for football and rugby, a full-sized artificial turf pitch for hockey, a new café and reception.

The centre in Redwing Drive held a taster day at the weekend so the public could see what the facility has to offer.
