FESTIVE plays and nativity performances have been brought to life this week by hundreds of children across North Somerset.
Students from schools in and around Weston showed off their skills as some of the wisest men, kindest angels and hard-working shepherds around.
While some schools chose to perform the traditional, 2,000-year-old tale of the birth of Jesus, others chose to create their own Christmas show, putting a modern twist on the traditional nativity.
But, whatever the performance of choice, proud friends and family looked on as the children wore impressive costumes and filled the stage with festive cheer.
The Mercury’s photographers, Mark Atherton and David Kenneford, were among the audience members, taking enough snaps to fill this week’s and last week’s edition.
