EVERYTHING from limousines to double-decker buses and push bikes to vintage cars was used to transport Churchill Academy's year 11 pupils to their school ball.
While a number of the students will be staying on to study their A-levels at the school, for others it was a chance to say goodbye before going onto college or starting an apprenticeship.
Smart suits and beautiful ball gowns were worn by the students on a glamour-filled Friday evening.
Thankfully the morning rain had cleared by the time the ball got underway meaning the pupils could enjoy their moment in the spotlight rather than running to dodge the showers.
Different sorts of horsepower - sports cars and horse-drawn carriages - helped get students to the ball.
Parents, siblings and other students lined the school entrance to welcome the teenagers to the big event.
Headteacher Barry Wratten said: “The end of a busy week and near the end of term, my energy levels were wanting.
“That is, until our year 11s arrived with so much joy in them. It was a smashing evening they’ll remember for a long time.”
