SPORTY pupils at Shipham First School made quite a racket when Cheddar Tennis Club’s professional coaches paid them a visit.
A demonstration of tennis skills recently took place in front of the whole school during an assembly before a coaching session was held in the playground.
Similar sessions have been held in several other schools and have always been a hit with children and staff.
Cheddar Tennis Club is now inviting children to enrol in its holiday coaching course from April 18-20 at its courts in Sharpham Road playing fields, Cheddar.
The course, which includes lots of fun games as well as learning tennis skills, will be run by the club’s full-time qualified coaches.
Mini tennis will run from 10am-12noon each morning for four to seven year olds and eight to 10 year olds.
Full court tennis will take place from 1-4pm each afternoon for 11 to 14 year olds and 15+. Tennis rackets are available for those without their own.
