A school awards evening gave pupils the chance to reflect on their achievements and collect prizes for their hard work.

Worle Community School held its awards night on Weston’s Grand Pier last week.

Students from all year groups and subjects were recognised for their achievements.

The Worle School Musicians performed on the evening, along with the Weston College Choir.

John Keegan, the chief executive at Monmouthshire Housing, gave a motivational talk, explaining the importance of working hard at school and what employers are looking for.

More than 70 awards were given out in total, with students also recognised for their efforts in sport and music.

The school’s head boy and girl, and deputy head boy and girl, gave out the awards.

Former year 11 pupil Molly Handcock received one of the awards for having the most outstanding exam results.
