HORTICULTURAL students from Cheddar were presented with a cheque for 100 by the Frankie Howerd OBE Trust.
This was presented to Kings of Wessex pupils by Nigel Lincoln, trust secretary, to support their learning, and the cash was raised at a Classic Vehicle Run in September.
Green-fingered students Tom Powell, aged 14, and Tilly Paul, aged 15, have also raised money to buy bulbs to plant at the school.
The young gardeners also have plans to create a raised bed to grow more vegetables in the summer.
Headteacher Chris Richardson said: “We are very grateful to the Frankie Howerd OBE Trust for their generous donation to our individual students to enhance their learning about horticulture, which will help them get the most of their practical studies.”
