Weston-super-Mare students were encouraged to think about their future at a careers event.

Pupils from Hans Price Academy, in Marchfields Way, attended the Raising Aspirations careers event at the University West of England this month to receive information, advice and guidance on their futures.

The two-day event saw pupils hear talks from deputy mayor of Bristol Asher Craig and Steve Taylor, the chief executive of the Cabot Learning Federation which the school is a part of.

The Royal Navy, Bristol City and Bristol Rovers football clubs and Rolls Royce were among the organisations present.

Advice and guidance leader at the school, Tim Holmes, said: “Providing good quality information and opportunities to talk to employers and hear about the many different pathways open to young people, continues to encourage the careers and employability agenda in schools.”
