TWO youngsters at a North Somerset primary school ripped up the rulebook as they became headteacher and deputy headteacher.

Following an auction of promises held at Locking Primary School, Mason and Aimi won the chance to take charge and were able to make the rules for a day.

As part of their decision-making they made the teachers dress up as characters from Frozen, take part in a sports day and give out sweets at the end of the day.

Instead of taking in their lunch boxes, the children were also treated to a Christmas dinner.

As headteacher for the rest of the year, Joanne Jones was able to sit back and do her knitting for the day.
