High-achieving students at a Highbridge school have been inspired during a masterclass at the University of Cambridge.
The King Alfred School sixth form students took part in the class led by academics from one of the country’s leading universities.
Pupils were asked to carry out independent research on their specialist subject which they then presented to students and Cambridge experts.
The subjects varied from law to history and zoology to maths and one student won first prize for the best presentation.
The event also included top tips for applying to Russell Group universities.
Ofsted praised the school’s sixth form last year, because it manages to get students into Britain’s top universities.
Head of sixth form, Jonathan Gaskell said: “This was a tremendously successful event, full of aspiration and helpful for our students who are all aiming for the top universities.”
