A student at Highbridge’s King Alfred School - An Academy has won a place at one of the most sought-after dance schools in the country.

Year 11 student Hannah Murdoch beat thousands of applicants to win her place at the Emil Dale Academy in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

She will be taking on a musical theatre diploma course to learn acting, dancing and singing lessons during her time there.

London’s West End performers from Wicked, Les Misérables and The Lion King are also set to work with her at the academy’s master-classes and workshops.

Hannah said: “When I found out, I could not believe it.

“Performing is my biggest passion and to have the opportunity to train
at Emil is a dream come true.”

She is a member of a community theatre group and the Lisa Jane School of Dance in Burnham.

Hannah continued: “I’m so excited to start there next September.”
