Highbridge students have visited one of the top universities in the world.

Sixth form students at The King Alfred School, in Burnham Road, spent two days at the University of Cambridge to find out all about its rich history and success.

To get some firsthand experience of life as an undergraduate, the students took part in masterclasses and had tours of other top establishments including King’s College, Christ’s College, Sidney Sussex College and Clare College.

The visitors also received advice on completing applications and preparing for interviews.

A school spokesman said: “Following the visit the students are buzzing with excitement and ideas for their own applications for the 2018 university entry as they wish to emulate famous Cambridge students such as Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking and Burnham’s very own Beth Marshall, who has just finished her second year reading natural sciences.”
