PUPILS at Berrow Primary School have been getting kitted out to stay safe in the longer dark evenings of the winter.
Reception and Year 1 pupils were given reflective jackets by homebuilder Persimmon Homes to heighten awareness of road safety at night.
They also celebrated winning a fruit and vegetable-growing competition run by Persimmon Homes and competed in by 10 other schools, and were awarded 500 to invest in their garden.
Headteacher Heather Hector said: “We are thrilled to have won the competition. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands dirty and learning how to grow their own vegetables which has encouraged them to become more aware of their diet as well as where vegetables come from.”
