PUPILS of a Weston Academy can travel there 'by mule', according to a member of staff who played a prank on its website.
An entry on the Hans Price Academy How to Find Us page had two joke headings placed on it by a member of staff who was due to leave the school.
Under run-of-the-mill headings such as ‘on foot’ and ‘by train’ were the more unusual ‘By mule, donkey or other working animal’ and ‘by sea’.
It read: “Donkeys can be hired on the Weston beach during the summer months, but it can be difficult to coax them inland. There are sturdy railings outside reception to tether even large animals.
“Unfortunately, the only stabling on site is reserved for the team leader for health, fitness and personal development.”
Principal Armando Di-Finizio saw the funny side, but stressed that the academy took the incident seriously.
He said: “It was funny, but I didn’t want it there. I don’t want people to think that because I’m from Bristol I don’t take the Academy or Weston seriously.
“I’m very much committed to the Academy and it is not something we want to associate with.”
“The person responsible has been reprimanded.”
