A Weston-super-Mare nursery has maintained its good rating from education watchdog Ofsted.

Little Bears Day Nursery, in Matindale Road, has been ranked as good in all four categories.

It means the nursery has effective leadership, good teaching, the behaviour of its children is good and children have good outcomes.

The nursery has spaces for 49 children each day, but has 106 children on its roll.

The Ofsted report says: “Staff’s interactions with children help them take strides in their development.

“Overall, children find the opportunities available to them exciting. They use good social skills and behave well.

“Managers and staff have strong and effective relationships with parents and other professionals. This has a positive impact on children’s learning at home as well as in the setting.”

To become outstanding, Ofsted says the nursery needs to plan more activities for younger children who prefer to learn outdoors.
