A MATHS competition was won by a class in a North Somerset school.

Pupils at Uphill Primary School put their knowledge of times tables and addition to the test as Sputnik class competed again 82 others across the country.

The competition was held on the maths website Sumdog, and year three and four class Sputnik won by 100 points.

Teacher Stephanie Carter said: “We are very proud of their achievement as they have completed most of the work at home. They are all now very enthused with maths and their mental maths skills have really improved as a result.”

The class has free membership to Sumdog for a year.
