THE MAYOR paid a visit to a primary school to take a tour of its facilities.

Weston mayor Cyril King and mayoress Sue King visited youngsters at Bournville Primary School in Selworthy Road who showed them their artwork and trophy cabinet before receiving a talk about the role.

Pupil Alysha Monk, aged 10, of Brue Close, and joint head of the school’s council, said: “The Mayor liked the wall displays we have put up in the entry with all our medals and things like that.

“He really liked the school, particularly our Apple suite and said it is really modern.

“He enjoyed his visit and also liked the interactive whiteboards and the way the teachers teach.

“I was chosen to organise the visit because I’m head of the council with another girl. I was picked because I am positive and not shy.”
