A CHILD was mummified at a Weston primary school to help youngsters learn about Egypt.
Children at Bournville Primary School enjoyed hands-on activities as part of this term’s theme based on the African country.
A pupil was wrapped in bandages while staff taught the grisly details of traditional mummification and children dressed in costumes and jewellery. There was also a selection of Egyptian foods including dried meats, pomegranates, malt loaf, figs and dates.
Teacher Gary Tucker said: “They really enjoyed the day and learned a lot. It helped increase their understanding and bring the topic to life.”
