A SOMERSET school hosted a musical awards event on Saturday night in honour of a pupil who died.
Sidcot School hosted the Catrine Basil Music Awards Evening, which was attended by students from all seven Quaker schools in England, to commemorate talented musician Catrine, who died in 2003 aged 17 while on holiday in Greece.
The school’s director of music, Beverley King said: “Pupils competed in eight categories and were able to show a vast range of musical disciplines including digital media, brass, piano and ensemble.”
The winners from Sidcot included Shen Han, who won the strings category, and Adelise McDowell, who won the digital composition category.
