AN OUTDOOR learning project has been launched at a Weston school.
The year-long forest school project is taking place at Windwhistle School in Kingsley Road.
Community charity XTND received a grant from the Awards For All England scheme in order to set it up.
A small group of year four children have learned to build their own shelters, light fires and create cherry wood necklaces.
They have also made mallets from eucalyptus branches and bows and arrows which were used in an archery contest.
The project aims to build the children’s confidence and self-esteem.
