New hall celebrated

A SCHOOL hall, which was in such of a state of disrepair that it was deemed unsafe for pupils to use, has been replaced by a brand new facility.

The crumbling 1970s Uphill Primary School building was demolished after structural surveys revealed that it was beyond repair.

The lack of facilities meant pupils had to eat their lunch in classrooms and PE lessons took place away from the school.

However last week heralded the start of a new era for pupils as a grand opening was held for a new hall.

A double celebration took place last Thursday as youngsters also dressed up for VE Day to mark the end of the term’s topic on World War Two.
