A SOMERSET school has announced a new headteacher this week.
Lorna Richardson has been appointed as Axbridge First School headmaster following the retirement of Gillian Briggs in September, who had been in charge of the school for 23 years.
Mrs Richardson said: “I am absolutely delighted. It is a privilege working in such a wonderful community and I will endeavor to do all I can to provide the pupils at Axbridge with the very best start in life.”
Stephanie Gall, school governors’ chair, said: “We know that in Lorna we are appointing a headteacher who will not only provide excellent leadership and care for the school now, but also someone who has a strong vision for the future.”
