SIDCOT School students have celebrated outstanding exam results, with every youngster achieving a pass.

The school in Winscombe had a 100 per cent pass rate in its A-level and international baccalaureate exams, while 50 per cent of its A-level grades awarded were A* and A.

A total of 89 per cent of students achieved grades A to C, and all international baccalaureate students were awarded their diplomas.

Today (Thurs), the Quaker school’s new headteacher, Iain Kilpatrick, said: “Sidcot has long prided itself in educating pupils with a wide range of abilities and these results are truly excellent.

“They are a testament to the hard work put in by our students, as well as the commitment of teachers and support from families.

“I wish all our students every success in whatever they choose to do after school.”

Deputy headteacher Russell Spooner added: “It’s been a very good year for results.

“Students have the option of studying for the international baccalaureate at Sidcot if they want to study a wide range of six subjects or A-levels if they prefer to focus on a particular area.”
