About 150 brownies from Blagdon, Churchill, Congresbury, Sandford, Wrington and Yatton met up for a party.

Some fruity non-alcoholic cocktails were served before an entertainer performed for the children.

A number of past leaders were also invited to the celebration. One of them, Eileen Weston, from Congresbury, was handed an award to thank her for 50 years service to the brownies movement.

Cream teas and birthday cake rounded off the special day.

However the 100-year
celebrations will carry on later in the year at a big regional event at Wincanton Race Course in July where 550 girls will attend, including many from North Somerset.
