WESTON College is celebrating 150 years of bringing education to the town and North Somerset community.

A record 2,000 visitors attended two open evenings at Weston College to look at full and part-time courses.

Principal Paul Phillips said: “Weston College is one of the top performing colleges in the South West, with 99.8 per cent of college students passing their A-levels this year, while there was a 100 per cent pass rate for vocational qualifications.

“It is thanks to the expertise of our staff that we can offer such consistently high teaching.”

To celebrate this big birthday the Mercury has teamed up with Weston College to gather together a gallery of past pictures of the college’s early days.

The shots can include college events, readers’ past days as a student or family and friends gathering for graduations.
