CHILDREN at a primary school in Weston are set to get new playground equipment if a nearby shopping centre is demolished.
Developer McLaren Life has agreed to donate the equipment from Dolphin Square to Walliscote Primary School if its planned 35million revamp of the site gets the go-ahead.
The company wants to demolish the square and build a retail and leisure scheme.
Full health and safety checks will be carried out before the installation, which would take place next June.Pl
Alastair Bell, of McLaren Life, said: “We are delighted to be able to help the local school with this donation which we are sure will bring a lot of happiness to the pupils.”
