Pupils with the new playground markings.

SHIPHAM First School pupils are enjoying new playground markings thanks to new grant funding and a contribution from their PTA.

A number grid, rocket hopscotch, compass and alphabet caterpillar are among the new markings – as well as a roadway in the early years playground.

Headteacher Mike Jory told the Mercury: “We as a school actively encourage outdoor learning and these new additions will enhance it even further.

“The younger children have been learning their alphabet thanks to the caterpillar (and) a new roadway in the playground has provided a track for their trikes and scooters.”
