Lympsham First School could be given between £8,000 and £12,000 to transform some of its outside space.

The school has been chosen to be part of Tesco’s Bags Of Help project, which gives out the revenue generated from the supermarket’s 5p bag charge.

The school wants to spend the money on a project which would see a rhyne which runs through its grounds piped and culverted so the area can be turfed and used as outdoor space by the school’s pupils.

How much money the school gets will depend on a public vote, but it could be given either £8,000, £10,000 or £12,000 for the work.

Voting will take place from October 31 to November 13 at Tesco stores in Weston, Worle and Clevedon.
