FROM the south of India to the north of Somerset – a group of Sri Lankans travelled across the Indian Ocean to visit some excited primary schoolchildren last week.
As part of Locking Primary School’s ongoing British Council link with a school in Sri Lanka, the school in Meadow Drive welcomed three teachers from the Mahanaga Maha College in Kegalle.
The guest teachers worked with the classes for the week, teaching youngsters about sustainability, developing communities and outdoor education.
Also, during the evening the visitors joined in with various activities hosted by community groups, including brownies, beavers and ukulele players.
