The Priory Learning Trust (PLT) now runs both Worle Community School and Priory Community School.

Jane McBride has been appointed principal of Priory, and Jacqui Scott principal at Worle after periods as head of school at each academy.

Neville Coles, executive principal of the PLT, said: “Both have been doing truly excellent jobs as our heads of schools. We are looking forward to excellent exam results this summer at both schools.

“The time is now right for us to firm up the principal posts at both Worle and Priory.

“This will guarantee continuity for several years and will further allow us to bring additional resources into North Worle schools.”

Priory is oversubscribed this year, although there are still some places left at Worle.

John Richardson, chair of the PLT, said: “Local parents have seen Priory’s rise in recent years and they will be well aware of the uncompromising approach to standards and the way in which great relationships are paramount in the way we do things.

“It is a great time to join either Priory or Worle.”
