Pupils conquer Roman adventure

YOUNGSTERS welcomed a roman soldier into their school to learn all about the historic empire.
Children at Bournville Primary School in Selworthy Road made their own colourful helmets and shields and went into battle against the face-paint bearing Celts after getting a lesson from Claudius Maximus.
School spokesman Maria Siewertsen said: “They learned lots of Latin words and really enjoyed themselves.
“Taylor said he was ready and brave to join the Roman army.”
