Children from across Weston were given a taste of secondary school life when Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College hosted an open evening for prospective pupils.

The school, in Windwhistle Road, Weston, gave visiting year six pupils the chance to take part in science experiments, complete maths puzzles, make their own torches and taste freshly-made apple juice.

A spokesman for the school said: “Our head girl and head boy, Keira and Kruz, led the formal presentation in the hall with a talk from our headteacher, as well as our head of lower school.

“Visiting year six children and their families were greatly impressed by the professionalism presented and the outstanding quality of the teaching and learning on display.”
