THIS week is Walk To School Week, and youngsters at Banwell Primary School got involved by forming their own walking bus on Tuesday.

Pupils formed a walking bus from the village hall car park in Westfield Road to the school in West Street.

As well as walking, as part of the week North Somerset Council has been encouraging children to use a variety of green alternatives to car transport, such as cycling and riding on scooters.

Youngsters at Blagdon Primary School also got involved with their own event yesterday (Weds).

Schools across the district which have taken part in collecting walk to school data and organising activities will be entered into a prize draw to win a scooterpad, a colourful scooter storage unit used to keep playgrounds tidy.
