A WESTON school celebrated its 50th anniversary by welcoming dozens of former pupils and staff back.

Baytree School celebrated the landmark on Friday with an event that allowed former pupils and teachers to share their memories, photos and stories.

The school first opened in January 1962 and was based in Baytree Road before moving to its current location in The Campus, Highlands Lane in September 2004.

Headteacher Fiona Richings said: “We had a couple of hundred people come along so it was well attended.

“There were a lot of photos which we tried to sort into an archive, and we are now looking into ways of allowing former pupils to communicate with each other via websites.”
