CHILDREN from Worle put on their best threads for a mock wedding ceremony.

Year one pupils at Mendip Green First School took part in the celebration as part of their religious studies.

The milestones in family life module allowed two youngsters to have a fake wedding at St Martin’s Church, with help from Reverend Paul Larcombe, while their fellow classmates, including a best man and bridesmaids, watched.

It gave the children a first-hand experience of a wedding and enabled them to understand the reasons behind the celebrations and further explore wedding traditions.

All children were involved in the planning and preparation of the service. They made invitations, designed the order of service, made the wedding cake and helped to write the speeches.

TJ Limousines of Weston even provided free transport for the lucky bride.
