A nursery school has gained accreditation from the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board scheme.

The Rainbow Montessori Nursery School, which is based at Winscombe’s Lynch Chapel, was visited twice by inspectors as part of the scheme which offers support and guidance to Montessori settings.

The report states: “The Rainbow Montessori Nursery School provides very high quality Montessori care and education for its children.

“Their needs and interests are identified clearly, and they are encouraged to grow in independence and self-confidence.”

Principal Jo Griffith was also praised for her energy and professionalism.

She said: “I am so pleased my staff team’s dedication to providing the best level of care and education for the children has continued to be recognised.”

The nursery gained an outstanding Ofsted rating in all areas last year.
