THE end of the World Cup – and England’s dismal showing - did not stop Weston pupils enjoying the football fever before term finished.

A reading challenge was held in June and July to encourage the students to pick up a book connected with sport.

Prizes were then handed out to the children who read the most during the tournament.

Thankfully the teachers achieved far more success with the pupils than Roy Hodgson did with his 23-man squad.
