Weston College receives prestigious royal recognition

Weston College has received royal recognition for its further education provision.

The college won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize, and was one of only two further education colleges in the country to receive the award.

It comes two weeks after the college picked up two Association of Colleges Beacon Awards.

Judges commended the college for being a leader in inclusive educational approaches to support learners with special educational needs and disabilities.

Dr Paul Phillips, principal and chief executive of the college, said: “This award recognises the massive transition that has occurred at Weston College.

“In particular, it acknowledges the close attention that has been given to make sure that every learner in the college has the same level of teaching and support, and the same chances of successfully progressing towards their goals.”
