A STUDENT in Cheddar has donated an England Rugby shirt to his school to inspire young sportsmen and women.
Kings of Wessex Academy student Sam Denham, aged 16, played for the South West rugby squad in the divisional festivals, and was selected to play in the England under-16s A team.
The year 11 student played in the shirt against Canada.
Carl Bennett, subject leader for P.E said: “I am delighted Sam has given us one of his England Rugby shirts, which I know will be a lasting legacy to the school.
“We will watch with interest Sam’s progress with the England under-16s.”
