PUPILS at Brent Knoll Primary School celebrated its 150th anniversary on Friday by unveiling a commemorative plaque made with the help of artist Colin Bell.

They also released 150 blue and gold balloons and held an exhibition of the school’s history after a service of traditional Victorian songs such as Oh Dearie Me and I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside. Headteacher Karen Davidson said: “The afternoon was a great success and we were really pleased to see so many people.

“I’m sure our pupils will remember the event for a very long time.

“The Parents and Teachers Association has also given all the children a special bookmark as a memento of the day.”
