THE council is set to announce the dates for the school year of 2013/14.
North Somerset Council’s executive member for education, Jeremy Blatchford, is set to sign off plans that would see the next academic year start on September 2.
The autumn term will end for the Christmas holidays on December 20, with children back in school on January 6, 2014.
The spring term will end on April 4, and schools across the district will then break up for the summer holidays on July 22.
The dates were decided after consultations with neighbouring councils, and will see the authority again adopt a 195-day school calendar.
